As we celebrate Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, we also celebrate being a proud member of the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). From their website, NADSP "values the full participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life through the provision of person-centered supports. NADSP believes that high quality support requires all professionals to follow the individual path suggested by the unique gifts, preferences, and needs of each person they support, and to walk in partnership with the person, and those who love him or her, toward a life of opportunity, well-being, freedom, and contribution."
Being a member of NADSP means being a part of a national movement to elevate the status of Direct Support Professionals by establishing an interconnected network of DSPs, Frontline Supervisors, self-advocates, family members, human service organizations, national associations, and more.
Being a part of NADSP means our DSPs have direct and exclusive access to information, resources, tools, and training to improve their knowledge and skill set and the quality of life for people receiving services.
